My name is Dan Errera and I will be beginning my senior year at Rowan University in September. I am majoring in Accounting and have a minor in Law and Justice. I am also a member of the honors concentration and am involved in several other activities around campus. During my sophomore year, I joined a Fraternity where I served as Treasurer and Vice President. I was a member of the Peer Referral and Orientation Staff, where I worked at the summer freshmen orientations. Beginning my freshman year, I have been an active member of the Accounting Society, where I served as Director of Student Government Relations and am currently serving as President. I also worked for several semesters in the College of Business Dean’s office.
I have just begun my second summer as an intern at Lockheed Martin. I began last summer working full time, and continued to work several days a week during the school year. I am working in Cherry Hill as part of the Information Systems and Global Solutions line of business, one of the major information technology providers for the U.S. Government. In my role, I support Finance and Business Operations under the Director of Accounting, Revenue, and Systems.
I have various job duties as the system and team I support perform various functions, including revenue, contracts, allocations, and billing. Most of my time is spent supporting training and communications. Lockheed offers various financial training courses to teach both new and experienced users how to perform various tasks in the financial systems that the company uses, which are SAP and PeopleSoft. I play a big part in supporting this training by working with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to schedule classes and update materials and also verify the accuracy of the training materials.
Like last summer, I am already learning a lot on the job. I enjoy the opportunity to see real-life applications of Accounting beyond what I am learning in the classroom. I am looking forward to another great summer at Lockheed Martin.
