Now that I have been working at
Lockheed Martin for over a year, I have some continuing responsibilities. Every day I work with the billing team to
reconcile invoices between two of our financial systems, PeopleSoft and
Intraviewer. I also monitor our Remedy
system, where users can submit a help ticket if they are having problems. When I am able to resolve these tickets, I
contact the user and do what I can to assist them. When I can’t, I assign the ticket to someone
who can. At the end of every week, I run
reports on these remedy tickets to keep track of how they are getting resolved.
My team at Lockheed Martin, under
the Director of Accounting, Revenue and Systems, is in charge of Training and
Communications as well as Change Management.
Last summer, our big project was facilitating Lockheed’s change from
services accounting to product accounting.
I worked with subject matter expects and users from across the country
to create training material for the change and then roll it out. It was a major undertaking that required a
lot of organization and a lot of people.
This summer, my team was thrown into a similar project. This week, we had meetings with a change
leadership team from Valley Forge who is transitioning out of their roles.
As I said in my previous blog,
Lockheed Martin IS&GS uses two main financial programs: PeopleSoft and
SAP. Beginning in 2009, Lockheed
starting changing its SAP instance to the corporate instance, called Procure to
Pay, or P2P. My team inherited the task
of leading this transition, which involves working with the Subject Matter
Experts and Super Users to roll out training and give access to all necessary
users.
At the end of last week, I also
was asked to start working on the budget for my department. I requested all necessary access to pull
reports for data for the budget. I also
attended my first budget meeting with several senior managers. It was very exciting and interesting to see the
expenses and payroll processes for my group. I am really looking forward to
getting more involved with this project.
Still learning a lot!
