It's almost over!

In many ways, today is rather bittersweet.

It’s the last full day of my internship, but it is also the day before all the EY interns go to Disney World for the International Intern Leadership Conference (IILC). This year the conference is being held from August 3rd – 6th, and all we really know is that it is comprised of workshops, team challenges, and a free night to spend in one of the parks at Disney!

So, how did the interns get to this point? From the beginning, we understood that we were responsible for requesting 3 reviews from our engagement team members by the end of our internship. Each review includes 4 competency ratings (on the subjects of People, Quality, Growth, and Operational Excellence) and also provides room for the reviewer to comment on your job performance. I requested all 3 reviews from team members on my client in NJ, and I was extremely pleased with their feedback. It was really motivating and reassuring to learn that I was doing a good job, and it also helped me evaluate my progress from another person’s perspective.

With these 3 reviews, EY partners and HR professionals were then able to evaluate and decide whether they wanted to extend a full time job offer to each intern. On Friday morning, all interns had a ten minute “exit interview” with a partner. My interview was short and sweet, and after discussing the work I’ve been doing for the past two months I learned that I received a full-time offer for after graduation! I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity, especially since I get to share it with all the amazing people I have met this summer.

Until next time,

Liz
