The October issue of
E-YoungCPA, the monthly e-newsletter of NJSCPA's young professionals, will feature the collective wisdom of NJSCPA members who are using social media effectively to build their personal and professional brands. Alas, we couldn't fit all of their pearls of wisdom into our article, "The Do's and Don'ts of Social Media for CPAs", but fortunately we have many communications tools at our disposal for sharing tips from our "social media ambassadors":
Jim Bourke (@JimBourke)
- Keep your discussions professional. You never know who will eventually see it.
Jaime Campbell (@jcampbellcpa)
- Have a firm account as well as individual accounts. Unless your brand truly has enough power, people generally relate to people, not brands.
Jesse Herschbein (@HerschbeinCPA)
- Don't post/tweet/comment aimlessly. Have a purpose and a vision as to why you are doing it.
Hope Player (@HopePlayer)
- Remember to continue to have face-to-face contact with your clients, prospects and associates. Social media is not a replacement for old-fashioned communication.
Gail Rosen (@GailRosenCPA)
- Don't post too much in one day or people will stop following you.
