In a
Time.com article published today, New Jersey residents were lauded for being the most fiscally responsible citizens in the country. In a nationwide survey conducted by the
Investor Education Foundation, Garden State men and women had the top scores in three of the poll's five key measures of financial capability. Hooray!
But (there's always a but), apparently our rainy day funds and lack of debt don't make us happy. In a
happiness rankings survey, many of the wealthiest states, including New Jersey, ranked among the bottom ten for happiness. Aw. :-(
We at the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA) can't help New Jersey residents become happier, but we continue to do our part to keep them financially responsible. Who knows, maybe one day, money will buy happiness.
Below are two programs offered by the Society as part of our ongoing effort to improve the financial literacy of men, women, seniors, children and anyone else we can reach. Participate in one yourself, or pass on the information to friends, family or clients.
