Anabolic Engagement

Learning to channel the energy of your team can have a profound effect on the success of your firm. To do so, you must engage employees by bringing them into an anabolic energy level. This is where individuals work in cooperation with one another. They focus on solving, understanding, creating, and supporting one another instead of being self-serving and judgmental. Individuals with anabolic energy look at a situation with an open mind. They are motivated to find a solution instead of someone to blame.

Anabolic employees are positive thinkers who avoid wasting time on unconstructive activities such as gossiping, worrying, and focusing on what is wrong. Instead, they direct their energy on how to move the project and firm forward. A study conducted in 2011 by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) entitled “The E-Factor Revealed” concluded that leaders who are able to tap into anabolic energy can provide the quality supervision and leadership required to engage and empower their staff. As a result, engagement and satisfaction increases with a positive impact on innovation and productivity. Anabolic energy creates a powerful and sustainable work environment.
